accessboardThe Access Board is a "Federal Agency committed to accessible design".  It is an independent Federal agency devoted to accessibility for people with disabilities. This site is a great resource for information on the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991 and its application in the playground/recreation industry.  


astmThe American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) “This consumer safety performance specification provides safety and performance standards for various types of public playground equipment. Its purpose is to reduce life-threatening and debilitating injuries.” ASTM F1487-01e1 Scope (1.1).  


consumerproductThe Consumer Product Safety Commission is an Independent Federal Regulatory Agency that works to save lives and keep families safe by reducing the risk of injuries and deaths associated with consumer products. Many publications are available on this site for download including playground safety tips, safety checklists and many more.


ipemaIn the interest of public safety, the International Playground Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA) provides third-party Product Certification services for U.S. and Canadian public play equipment and U.S. public play surfacing materials.

The New Jersey Recreation and Park Association (NJRPA) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of all New Jersey residents by supporting outstanding park, recreation, and natural resources management programs.  Since 1928, the efforts initiated by NJRPA and its membership have resulted in tangible benefits for communities throughout the state and the quality of life for residents living in those communities has substantially improved.


americansociety Founded in 1899, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is the national professional association representing landscape architects. ASLA represents all 50 states, US territories, and 42 countries around the world. ASLA promotes the landscape architecture profession and advances the practice through advocacy, education, communication, and fellowship.


njaslaThe New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (NJASLA) works hard to provide local services to NJ member Landscape Architects.  Members are kept up to date on important issues via monthly newsletters.  Every year, the members gather at the annual meeting, a three day event full of seminars, continuing education and networking.
